Fujiwara Sakura live - Kyoto 2016-08-07 (Tanabata - Yasaka jinja)

Comme l'année dernière à la même date pour le concert de Kokia, un nouveau concert gratuit était organisé le dimanche 7 août 2016 pour Tanabata à Kyoto, au sanctuaire Yasaka (八坂神社). A Kyoto, Tanabata se fête ainsi un mois après le reste du Japon ; c'est l'occasion d'accrocher des vœux à des branches de bambous dans les sanctuaires shinto. On pouvait aussi en trouver, illuminés, le long de la Kamogawa !
Like last year at the same date for the live of Kokia, a new free showcase was organized on Sunday the 7th of August 2016 for Tanabata in Kyoto, in the Yasaka shrine (八坂神社). In Kyoto, Tanabata is celebrated thus one month later than in the est of Japan; on this occasion, people hang on wishes to bamboo branches in the shinto shrines. We could see a few of them, illuminated, along the Kamogawa !

Cette fois-ci, on avait l'occasion de découvrir la jeune (20 ans) chanteuse-guitariste, ou "guita-jo", Fujiwara Sakura (藤原 さくら) qui a sorti un 1er album en Major en février 2016 (cf. discographie ci-dessous), et qui est récemment devenue populaire en jouant ce printemps dans le drama de Fuji TV, Love Song au côté du célèbre acteur-chanteur Fukuyama Masaharu (cf. article sur le Kouhaku 2015 par exemple).
This time, we could discover the young (20) singer-guitarist, or "guita-jo", Fujiwara Sakura (藤原 さくら) who released a 1st album in Major in February 2016 (see discography hereunder), and who became popular by playing during this spring in the Fuji TV drama, Love Song, beside the famous actor-singer Fukuyama Masaharu (see the article on Kouhaku 2015 for example).

Elle en interprète également la chanson thème, Soup (cf. vidéo clip) qui a été écrite par Fukuyama, membre de la même agence, et qui est du coup son 1er single en Major sorti en juin (cf. discographie ci-dessous). Comme on peut l'apercevoir sur la capture d'écran, le clip, à l'image de certains de ses titres d'album ou chansons, fait un clin d'œil à la France avec sa baguette Campaillette ^^ !

She is also performing the drama's theme song,  Soup (see Music Video) who was written by Fukuyama, member of the same agency, which is thus also her 1st Major single, released in June (see discography hereunder). As you can guess on the screenshot, the PV, like some of her album or songs titles, makes a reference to France with its Campaillette baguette ^^ !

Le concert dura de 18h30 à 19h30 dans l'un des pavillons (photo ci-dessous pendant l'installation - pas de photos durant le concert en principe), devant au moins 500-700 personnes à vue de nez, accompagnée d'un guitariste et d'une pianiste qu'elle connaissait de longtemps. Elle a livrée un bon concert, où transparaissait une large inspiration blues, folk et nu-soul, avec notamment une reprise de Stand by me, de Ben E. King décédé l'année dernière. De manière générale, elle possède la même qualité vocale qu'en studio, avec une voix plutôt aérienne propice aux arabesques mélodiques, même si du coup elle eut un peu de mal dans les graves sur sa reprise. Il faut dire qu'elle avait déjà sorti 1 album indé et 1 mini-album dans les 2 années précédentes (cf. discographie ci-dessous), atteignant le grand public avec ce dernier grâce à son titre Walking on the clouds, largement relayé par la chaîne Space Shower TV qui l'avait lancé en indé.

The live occurred from 18:30 to 19:30 in one of the pavilion (picture hereunder during installation - no photo allowed during the show in principle but many Japanese took a video of Soup, the last song), in front of at least 500-700 peoples I guess, accompanied by a guitarist and a keyboardist she knew for a while. She performed a good concert which unveiled a large influence of blues, folk and nu-soul, including a cover of  Stand by me, from Ben E. King who had passed away last year. She realizes roughly the same vocal performance as in studio, with a rather aerial voice, fitted for melodic arabesques, even if as a consequence she had some difficulties on the low tones of her cover. Indeed she already released 1 full album in Indies and a mini-album in Major during the 2 preceding years (see discography hereunder), reaching the mass with this last one and the track Walking on the clouds, widely broadcast by Space Shower TV which had launched her in indies.
