Chibi-News J-Music printemps / spring 2016: Sotsugyos, Pauses et Debuts (Fr/Eng)

Le printemps est l'époque des cerisiers (sakura) au Japon, mais aussi celle des "sotsugyô shiki" (卒業式), les cérémonies de fin de cycle scolaire, suivies environ 2-3 semaines plus tard des cérémonies de rentrée scolaire (Nyugaku Shiki 入学式). Il en est allé à peu près de même cette année 2016 niveau J-Music avec au moins 6 arrêts et pauses à durée indéterminée d'artistes ou groupes importants entre février et mai ! Et une nouvelle unit qui a fait un certain bruit  du côté de la franchise xxx48/46, alors que le monde des Idols féminines est déjà bien saturé...
Spring is the time of the cherry trees (sakura) in Japan, but also the time of the "sotsugyou shiki" (卒業式), the school cycle ending ceremonies, followed around 2-3 weeks later by the school entry ceremonies  (Nyugaku Shiki 入学式). It was quite the same this year 2016 regarding J-Music with at least than 6 disbands or undefined hiatus of important artists or bands between February and May ! And a new unit who made quite a noise in the quite saturated world of female Idols in the xxx48/46 franchise...

Tout d'abord, c'est le groupe J-pop J-rock Galileo Galilei qui, dans la foulée de la sortie de son single Wednesday 『ウェンズデイ』 (vidéo clip), accompagnant leur 4e album 「Sea and The Darkness」 fin janvier, annonce sa séparation d'ici un an.
Le groupe formé en 2007 par des amis d'Hokkaido n'est déjà plus composé que de Ozaki Yûki (chant, guitare), Sakô Hitoshi (basse) et Ozaki Kazuki (batterie), après les départs de Noguchi Kazumasa (2011-2012, clavier) et Iwai Fumito (2009-2012, guitare, qui avait lui-même remplacé Funaya Sôhei parti peu après le passage en Major du groupe) qui ont formé un autre groupe (Folks).
Bien que leurs ventes n'aient jamais été extraordinaires en dehors de leur 1er album, ils sont connus pour leurs génériques de nombreux dessins-animés comme Terror in Resonance, AnoHana, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE... ou encore dernièrement la seconde saison de Haikyuu!!  (Climber) qu'on peut retrouver sur leur dernier album, et avec d'autres sur leur dernier Best of, Sharin no Jiku prévu le 15/06.
At 1st the J-pop J-rock band Galileo Galilei  announces, just when releasing the single Wednesday 『ウェンズデイ』 (Music Video), accompanying their 4th album 「Sea and The Darkness」 by the end of January, their disband during the coming year.
The band formed in 2007 by friends in Hokkaido is now only composed of Ozaki Yuuki (singer,
guitar), Sakou Hitoshi (bass) et Ozaki Kazuki (drum), after the departures of Noguchi Kazumasa (2011-2012, keyboard) et Iwai Fumito (2009-2012, guitar, who had already replaced Funaya Sôhei gone soon after the Major debut) who formed another band (Folks).
Despite their sales weren't huge excepted their 1st album, they are known for their openings and endings of numerous anime such as Terror in Resonance, AnoHana, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE... or also lately the 2nd season of Haikyuu!!  (Climber) that can be heard on their last album, and with others on their last Best of, Sharin no Jiku to be released on the 15/06.

A peu près à la même époque, le duo J-pop WaT composé de l'américano-japonais Wentz Eiji (瑛士) and Koike Teppei (小池徹平) revient d'une pause de près de 4 ans avec un ultime clip, 「はじまりの時」 (Hajimari no toki, "l'instant du début") pour leur best album, 『卒業BEST』 (Sotsugyô best), et pour annoncer sa séparation définitive en février. Ils s'étaient rencontrés en tant que guitaristes de rue en 2002 et avaient débuté en Major en 2005, connaissant un succès immédiat (「僕のキモチ」, Boku no Kimochi, "mes sentiments" arrivant 2nd de l'Oricon hebdo) avec leurs ballades romantiques ou nostalgiques comme également 「5センチ。」(Go senchi, "5 cm"). Ils ont ainsi été invités 4 fois au Kôhaku uta gassen de la NHK. Depuis 2011, ils étaient en pause pour suivre des projets solos.




About at the same time, the J-pop  WaT formed by the American-Japanese Wentz Eiji (瑛士) and by Koike Teppei (小池徹平) comes back from a nearly 4-year hiatus with a last MV, 「はじまりの時」 (Hajimari no toki, "the time of start") for their last album, 『卒業BEST』 (Sotsugyou best), and to announce their definite disband in February. They had met as street guitar players in 2002 and had started in Major in 2005 with a immediate success (「僕のキモチ」, Boku no Kimochi, "my feeling", arriving 2nd of the weekly Oricon) with their romantic or nostalgic ballads such as 「5センチ。」(Go senchi, "5 cm") too. They were invited 4 times at the NHK's Kouhaku uta gassen. Since 2011, they were in a pause to follow some personal projects.



C'est pareil en Visual Kei (ou ex-Visu) avec d'abord l'annonce de séparation de Girugamesh （ギルガメッシュ）. Ce dernier a en effet expliqué en mai que leur live au Zepp de Tokyo en juillet serait leur dernier, tout en remerciant les fans de leur soutien. Ils avaient sorti un album en janvier, Chimera (trailer) ; la version ci-dessous est accompagnée d'un DVD d'un concert avec certains de leurs succès. Formés en 2004, composé actuellement de : Satoshi (chant), Nii (guitare), ShuU (basse) et Яyo (frère de Nii, batterie) après les départs de Cyrien et Hotaru, ils avaient connu une belle renommée internationale à la fin des 2000s, en participant à plusieurs festival J-Rock et Visu, suivis de tournées solos, tout en restant sous label indé.
It is the same in Visual Kei (or ex-Visu) with firstly the disband announcement of Girugamesh （ギルガメッシュ）. They indeed explained in May that their live in Zepp of Tokyo in July would be their last and thanking fans for their support. They had released a mini-album in January, Chimera (trailer) ; the hereunder version features a DVD of a live with some of their hits. Formed in 2004, composed now of Satoshi (vocals), Nii (guitar), ShuU (bass) et Яyo (brother of Nii, drums) after the departures of Cyrien and Hotaru, they had met a nice international fame by the end of the 2000s, by participating in several festivals J-Rock and Visu, followed by solo tours, while remaining under a underground label.


Puis c'est au tour de Nightmare (ナイトメア) d'annoncer sa mise en pause à durée indéterminée.  Il se compose actuellement de Sakito et Hitsugi à la guitare, Yomi au chant, Ni~ya à la basse, et Ruka à la batterie qui remplaça le départ précoce de Zannin. Formé en 2000, il s'était rendu mondialement célèbre pour ses génériques de Death Note (The World, Alumina), et également Claymore, Raison d'être (レゾンデートル), que l'on peut retrouver ensemble dans leur récent Best tracks 2006-2010 [vapor] (playlist du label VAP). Leur dernier concert avant cette pause aura lieu à Tokyo en novembre. Then it's the turn of Nightmare (ナイトメア) to announce its hiatus without duration precision. It consists nowadays of Sakito and Hitsugi (guitar), Yomi (vocals), Ni~ya (bass), and Ruka (drums) who replaced the early leave of Zannin. Created in 2000, it had become worldwide famous for its tie-ups of Death Note (The World, Alumina), and also of Claymore, Raison d'être (レゾンデートル), which can be found on the recent Best tracks 2006-2010 [vapor] (playlist of VAP label). Their last live before the break will take place in Tokyo in November. I had seen them at Japan Expo in Paris in 2013 ! Playlist avex here.


Côtés Idols, le groupe de Johnny's KAT-TUN, formé initialement de Kamenashi Kazuya, Akanishi Jin, Taguchi Junnosuke, Tanaka Koki, Ueda Tatsuya et Nakamaru Yuichi, avait déjà vu partir Akanishi pour une carrière solo puis Tanaka, licencié pour comportement incompatible avec son image d'Idol. Il n'aura pas résisté longtemps au sotsugyo d'un 3e membre,  Taguchi Junnosuke, annoncé en novembre 2015 et effectif en mars. En effet, en mai, c'est la mise en pause du groupe dont les membres rescapés vont se consacrer à des projets solos. Ils venaient tout juste d'atteindre leurs 10 ans en Major, avec un Best of à la clé:
On the Idols side, the Johnny's band KAT-TUN, formed initially by Kamenashi Kazuya, Akanishi Jin, Taguchi Junnosuke, Tanaka Koki, Ueda Tatsuya and Nakamaru Yuichi, had already faced the departures of Akanishi for a career solo then Tanaka, fired for a behaviour not in accordance with his Idol image. It would not have resisted a long time after the sotsugyo of a 3rd member, Taguchi Junnsuke, announced in November 2015 and effective in March. Indeed, in May, it is the break of the band whose remaining members will now spend their time on personal projects. They just released a Best of for their 10th anniversary in Major:



Fin mars a eu lieu le concert d'adieu de Takahashi Minami (高橋みなみ ) qui avait annoncé son sotsugyo des AKB48, dont elle était une des premières et des plus emblématiques membres, depuis longtemps. Elle avait d'ailleurs eu droit à une belle surprise lors du Kôhaku 2015 ! Elle reste néanmoins dans le monde médiatique, notamment via une pub assez drôle avec la chanteuse Enka Sachiko croisée au même Kôhaku.
By the end of March took place the farewell concert of Takahashi Minami (高橋みなみ ) who had announced her sotsugyo from the AKB48, whom she was one of the 1st and among the most emblematic members, a long time ago. She had by the way a nice surprise during the Kouhaku 2015 ! She stays nevertheless in the media, notably via a quite funny ad with the Enka singer Sachiko, met at the very same Kouhaku.


Tandis que ça tourne chez les "48", leur producteur Akimoto a décidé de lancer en Major en avril un nouveau groupe "46": Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46)  avec Silent Majority 『サイレントマジョリティー』 (vidéo clip VEVO / Vidéo clip Japon). On notera que ce 1er single ressemble pas mal au 1er de leurs "sempai", les Nogizaka46 (Seifuku no mannequin), que ce soit dans la mélodie ou la choré un peu martiale. Et comme les Nogizaka46 sont les "rivales officielles" des AKB48, je me demande désormais si, et à quel autre groupe 48, ces 20 et quelques nouvelles Idols seront "opposées". Selon cette logique, la création de cette unit n'est pas vraiment une surprise ; toutefois, la loi du marché est plus tendue et il reste à prouver que les groupes d'Akimoto, déjà ultra-majoritaires dans les ventes d'Idols féminines pourront élargir les fans qu'elles sont de plus en plus nombreuses à se partager...


While there is some turnover by the "48", their Producer Akimoto decided to launch in Major in April a brand new unit "46": Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46)  with Silent Majority 『サイレントマジョリティー』 (Music Video VEVO / Music Video Japan). One would note that this new single looks pretty like the 1st one of their "sempai", the Nogizaka46 (Seifuku no mannequin), regarding the tune as well as the somewhat martial choregraphy. And as the Nogizaka46 are the "official rivals" of the AKB48, I wonder now if, and to which 48 band, these 20 and so new Idols will be "opposed". According to this logic, the creation of this unit is not really a surprise; however the market law is more difficult and it is left to prove that the Akimoto's bands already trusting the female Idols sales will succeed in enlarging the fans that they are more and more numerous to share...
