J-Music Rankings : Tops charts 2019 - Billboard, Download... (Fr/Eng)

Voyons quelques classements J-Music 2019 issus des classements de singles en téléchargement et d'après Billboard. C'est à voir en complément des charts Oricon, ainsi que de mes articles sur le 70e Kôhaku, l'émission musicale de la NHK qui résume aussi à sa manière l'année écoulée. 

Let's see some different J-Music rankings 2019 issued from the singles download ranking and Billboard charts. It is complementary to the Oricon charts, and to my articles about the 70th Kouhaku (coming soon), the musical show of the NHK which sums up on its own way the ending year.

Le Top Billboard Hot 100 est basé non seulement sur les ventes physiques mais aussi sur les téléchargements et les diffusions audiovisuelles. La pondération interne pour en extraire le Hot 100 peut être discutée, mais ces charts sont généralement plus conformes à ce qu'on entend majoritairement au Japon que les classements purement physiques. L'Oricon propose depuis peu le même genre de pondération, mais autant varier les sources.

La vue du classement de téléchargements de singles permet d'ailleurs de comprendre en grande partie l'origine de la différence avec le classement physique Oricon dominé par les Idols...

The Billboard Hot 100 is based not only on the physical sales but also on the downloads and the broadcast. The internal formula to produce the Hot 100 may be argued, but these charts are generally more similar to what you can mostly hear in Japan than the purely physical-based charts. The Oricon offers recently the same kind of mixed charts but it is good to see other sources.

A look at the singles Download ranking allows to understand easily the main origin of the difference with the physical charts of the Oricon dominated by the Idols...

En 2018, j'avais parlé de consécration pour Yonezu et de percée pour Aimyon et Suda Masaki. Si l'acteur a fait moins de sorties musicales en 2019, ses chansons précédentes restent bien en place. Quant aux deux autres, ils confirment leur domination, bien aidés par leur passage au Kôhaku 2018, avec un gros rattrapage de vieux titres pour Aimyon. Cela, associé à la présence constante de grands classiques des karaokés comme ceux de back number, et au maintien de bons génériques de drama à succès (par Misia, Uru...), donne l'impression que la J-Pop est un peu restée figée dans le passé !

Heureusement pour l'industrie du disque, les jeunes groupes J-Pop et J-Rock progressif Official Hige-Dandism et King Gnu viennent apporter un peu de nouveauté.

In 2018, I told about consecration for Yonezu and breakthrough for Aimyon and Suda Masaki. If the actor made fewer musical outcomes in 2019, his previous songs stay well placed. Concerning the 2 others, they confirm their domination, well served by their appearance in the 2018 Kouhaku, with a huge  catch-up of old tunes for Aimyon. This, associated to the continuous presence of great standards of karaoke like the back number ones, and to the resistance of good theme songs from successful drama (by Misia, Uru...), makes J-Pop looking frozen in the past!

Hopefully for the music industry, the young J-Pop and progressive J-Rock Official Hige-Dandism and King Gnu bring some freshness.

Du côté des Idols, peu de changement dans les groupes en présence, avec surtout les Nogizaka46 et TWICE, mais les chansons se renouvellent davantage. On note aussi la bonne performance du jeune groupe soeur Hinatazaka46 avec 2 titres dans le top 50. Côté garçons, et plus précisément Johnny's, on ne trouve guère qu'Arashi, dans la lignée de l'annonce de leur future préretraite.

On the Idols side, little change in the ranking bands, with mainly the Nogizaka46 and TWICE, but there is a bigger renewal in the songs. One notes too the good performance of the young sister band Hinatazaka46 with 2 titles in the top 50. Regarding the boys, and more precisely the Johnny's, there is barely Arashi left, following their announcement of coming retirement.

LiSA pointe à une surprenante 26e place (pour de l'anison de série TV) avec le générique de Kimetsu no yaiba (Demon slayer) qui lui vaudra une première invitation au Kôhaku 2019. D'autant que l'ending auquel elle participe aussi aux côtés de FictionJunction se classe... 51e des téléchargements.

Moins surprenant, le succès de Radwimps pour sa nouvelle bande-son sur le nouveau film d'animation de Makoto Shinkai, Tenki no ko (Weathering with you).

LiSA reaches a surprising 26th place (for TV series anison) with the opening of Kimetsu no yaiba (Demon slayer) which would grant her a 1st invitation to the 2019 Kouhaku. All the more since the ending to which she participates siding with FictionJunction is ranking... 51th of the Download charts.

Less surprising, the success of Radwimps with their new soundtrack for the new animation movie by Makoto Shinkai, Tenki no ko (Weathering with you).

Spitz fait figure de fossile vivant dans ce classement résolument 21e siècle, avec une 48e place obtenue grâce à un drama, toujours dans ce style pop-rock doux à la limite de la folk qui fait leur succès depuis la fin des années 80 (à côté de trucs plus rock).
Spitz looks like a living fossil in this 21st-century-oriented ranking, with a 48th place obtained thanks to a drama, still in this soft pop-rock style flirting with folk which makes their fame since the end of the 80s (beside more rock stuff).

Comme l'année précédente, un seul titre Idol hommes et femmes confondus, mais c'est Arashi qui s'y colle cette fois.

On voit apparaître la prometteuse milet, tout juste lancée en 2019 avec une voix entre Sia et Adele, qui place pas moins de 2 titres !

Like on the previous year, there is only one Idol song, among all males and females, but it is an Arashi's one this time.

The promising milet, just launched in 2019 with a voice between Sia and Adele, appears with not less than 2 tracks!

Par rapport au Hot 100, le Top téléchargements 2019 fait la part belle à l'anison. D'ailleurs milet sort en 2020 deux titres d'anime lancés fin 2019 (Vinland saga et Fate/Grand Order) ! On y trouve plusieurs titres de la BO de Radwimps pour Tenki no ko, de la chanteuse Aimer... Même les nouvelles stars Aimyon et Yonezu Kenshi dont ce n'est pas la spécialité, y contribuent : 2 chansons de la guitariste pour des films d'animation, Haru no hi (Crayon Shin-chan) et Sora no aosa wo shiteiru hito yo (éponyme). Umi no yûrei pour le film Kaijû no kodomo (Les enfants de la mer) et Peace sign (générique de My Hero academia en 2017 et toujours classé !) du côté de l'ex-VocaP.

On note la belle 11e place de LiSA pour l'opening de Demon Slayer et la présence d'Inferno de Mrs. Green Apple opening d'En en no shôbôtai (Fire Force). Plus inattendue, celle du titre O-negai muscle issu de l'anime otaku Dumbbell nan kilo motteru (How heavy are the dumbbells you lift) sur les salles de musculation, avec notamment la seiyuu de père égyptien Fairouz Ai.

Compared to the Hot 100, the 2019 Download Songs chart is a heaven for the anison. By the way, in 2020 milet releases 2 theme songs of aime started at the end of 2019 (Vinland saga and Fate/Grand Order). There are several tracks from the Radwimps OST for Tenki no ko, from the songstress Aimer... Even the new stars Aimyon and Yonezu Kenshi, while it is not their specialty, contribute to animation movies: 2 songs of the guitarist, Haru no hi (Crayon Shin-chan) and Sora no aosa wo shiteiru hito yo (eponymous). Umi no yûrei for Kaijû no kodomo (Children of the sea) and Peace sign (opening of Boku no Hero Academia in 2017 and still ranking!) on the ex-VocaP side.

One notices the nice 11th place of LiSA with the opening Demon Slayer and the presence of Inferno by Mrs. Green Apple, opening of En en no shôbôtai (Fire Force). More unexpected, the one of the song O-negai muscle from the otaku anime Dumbbell nan kilo motteru (How heavy are the dumbbells you lift) about fitness centers, with in particular the Egyptian-father-born seiyuu Fairouz Ai.
