Le 69e Kôhaku Uta Gassen (紅白 歌合戦), l'émission de Réveillon 2018-2019 de la chaîne publique japonaise NHK promettait d'être exceptionnel, car il devait être le dernier de l'ère Heisei, l'Empereur Akihito faisant son Sotsugyo... pardon : prenant sa retraite au 1er mai 2019 en abdiquant en faveur de son fils aîné.
Toujours l'occasion de faire le point sur l'année culturelle écoulée, on peut aussi y admirer de jolis kimonos chez les artistes traditionnels, plus discrets dans les média le reste du temps. Le programme semblait bien alléchant en effet avec la première participation annoncée de Yonezu Kenshi et Aimyon, les nouvelles coqueluches J-Rock / J-Pop, ou encore le retour miraculeux d'un des premiers "boysbands" non-Johnny's à succès de la J-Music, DA PUMP !
The 69th Kouhaku Uta Gassen (紅白 歌合戦), the New Year's Eve show of the Japanese state channel NHK was expected to be outstanding, as it was supposed to be the last of the Heisei era, the emperor Akihito graduating... sorry : retiring on the 1st of May 2019 and passing on to his older son.
Always an occasion to comeback on the cultural events of the year, we can also admire the beautiful kimonos that traditional artists wear, whereas they are less visible on TV the rest of the time. Things had well started with the first appearance of Yonezu Kenshi and Aimyon, the new generation of J-Rock / J-Pop stars, as well as the miraculous comeback of one of the first successful non-Johnny's "boysbands" in J-Music history, DA PUMP !
Ce Kôhaku débutait avec un générique rétrospectif de grands succès chantés au Kôhaku durant l'ère Heisei, c'est-à-dire depuis 1989, comme le fameux générique de Chibi Maruko-chan Odoru Pompokorin par B.B. Queens, Kurenai de X Japan, Boy meet girl de TRF, Rising sun d'EXILE, Zundoko de Hikawa Kiyoshi... avec certains invités actuels en figurants devant les télés d'époque comme Perfume, DAOKO, Arashi...
Il est à nouveau présidé par l'acteur et présentateur Uchimura Teruyoshi (内村 光良) tandis que Sakurai Sho (櫻井 翔) du groupe Arashi (嵐) et l'actrice et mannequin Hirose Suzu (広瀬 すず), sont les capitaines des Blancs (voix masculines) et Rouges (voix féminines) respectivement. La thématique est à nouveau "Chantons nos rêves" (夢を歌おう).
This Kouhaku started with a retrospective opening of some main hits sung in the Kouhaku of the Heisei era, that is, since 1989, such as the famous theme song of Chibi Maruko-chan Odoru Ponpokorin by B.B. Queens, Kurenai by X Japan, Boy meet girl by TRF, Rising sun by EXILE, Zundoko by Hikawa Kiyoshi... with some current guests as background performers watching the TV of that days such as Perfume, DAOKO, Arashi...
It is once again presided by the actor and animator Uchimura Teruyoshi (内村 光良) while Sakurai Sho (櫻井 翔) from the band Arashi (嵐) and the actress and model Hirose Suzu (広瀬 すず), are the captains of the Whites (male vocals) and Reds (female vocals) respectively. The theme is again "Chantons nos rêves" (夢を歌おう).
Bon nombre d'artistes sont réunis sur la scène en lever de rideau, dont les Southern All Stars, pour la première fois en 35 ans, eux qui n'apparaissaient guère qu'en duplex depuis leurs propres concerts ! Mais on commence avec les Sandaime J Soul Brothers (三代目J-Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe) et leur gros tube clubbing de 2014, RYUSEI, avec sa fameuse chorégraphie du "running man".
Tout autre style, la chanteuse d'Enka Sakamoto Fuyumi (坂本冬美) reprend son titre Yozakura Oshichi (夜桜お七), accompagnée, pour faire le poids, de la troupe féminine championne de danse Fabulous Sisters BLUE TOKYO (choré de Ruu).
Many artists are gathering on the opening stage, including the Southern All Stars for the first time in 35 years, as since then they barely appear in duplex from their own lives ! But let's start with the Sandaime J Soul Brothers (三代目J-Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe) and their huge clubbing hit from 2014, RYUSEI, with its famous "running man" choreography.
In an opposite style, the Enka singer Sakamoto Fuyumi (坂本冬美) covers her song Yozakura Oshichi (夜桜お七), with the female dance champion troop Fabulous Sisters BLUE TOKYO (choreography by Ruu) as back dancers to match the challenge.
Le vétéran Johnny's Gô Hiromi (郷ひろみ) démarre du hall d'entrée du Hall de la NHK pour finir sur scène avec une (énième) reprise d'un de ses tubes "Kôhaku", Goldfinger (rien à voir avec 007, c'est la version japonaise de la Vida Loca de Ricky Martin !).
Veteran Johnny's Gou Hiromi (郷ひろみ) starts from entrance hall of the NHK Hall to finish on stage with (once again) a cover of one of his "Kouhaku" hits, Goldfinger (nothing to do with 007, it's the Japanese version of la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin !).

Il y a un petit reportage sur la jeune génération de sportifs et son rapport à la musique, notamment la pongiste qui a participé au clip des Little Glee Monster, Sekai wa anata ni waraikaketeiru (世界はあなたに笑いかけている), que le groupe vocal féminin de J-Pop vient chanter sur scène avec une chorale de 200 élèves.
There is a short report on the young athletes generation and their relation to the music, in particular the ping-pong player who appeared in the Little Glee Monster music video Sekai wa anata ni waraikaketeiru (世界はあなたに笑いかけている), which the J-Pop female vocal band come and sing on stage with a 200-student choir.
C'est ensuite Yamauchi Keisuke (山内 惠介) qui arrive, lui aussi accompagné , mais par la troupe en cosplay de Tôken Danshi 刀剣男士, issue de la franchise multimédia (jeux, comédies musicales...) Token Rambu (刀剣乱舞) pour Sarase fuyu no arashi (さらせ冬の嵐).
DAOKO fait (enfin) son arrivée au Kôhaku pour Uchiage Hanabi (打上花火), le gros tube en duo avec Yonezu Kenshi qui a donné envie de voir le film d'animation Fireworks (plus que l'inverse ;-p) en 2017. Petite bizarrerie, elle chante seule avec un enregistrement de le partie de Yonezu, pourtant programmé dans l'émission lui aussi. Y aurait-il un problème (suspens insoutenaaable...) ?

Uchimura reprend son déguisement de super-manager de l'année précédente et part en bateau. Sa mission : dégoter le show de rêve ultime pour les enfants de l'ère Heisei. Et ce sont des Idols des Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46 et AKB48 qui atterrissent sur scène avec les persos de Hyokkori-Hyoutanjima, et la chanson éponyme (ひょっこりひょうたん島).
Ôno d'Arashi et Muro Tsuyoshi, un comédien, lancent ensuite les mascottes et animateurs des émissions pour enfants de la NHK Okaa-san to Issho et Inai Inai Bah !, avec la chanson Wao (わ～お！), puis Niji no mukou ni (にじのむこうに) pour consoler le super-manager devenu trop grand pour rentrer dans le hall...
Puis Matsuda Seiko (松田聖子), programmée aussi plus tard, surgit du sol pour un bref extrait de Kitte no nai okurimono (切手のないおくりもの). Le super-manager géant se change alors en une multitude de mini-managers, et un de taille normal ^^. Il est temps de faire un présent d'avenir aux enfants alors les Johnny's de Sexy Zone et King & Prince arrivent pour reprendre le tube des V6, WA ni natte odorô (WAになっておどろう), vite rejoints sur scène par d'autres artistes comme les LGM...
On nous présente la chanson de soutien aux JO de 2020 de la NHK, produite par Yonezu Kenshi (!) : Paprika, chantée par un groupe d'enfants, Foorin.
Ils rejoignent tous les artistes précédents sur scènes à leur tour, sous les yeux des 2 mascottes des JO récemment baptisées, Miraitowa et Someity.
Ca commence à faire du monde ; petite pensée aux Idols 46 et 48 présentes depuis le début et reprenant toutes les choré !
Uchimura dresses again as the previous year's super-manager and sails away. His mission : to find the ultimate dream show for the Heisei era's kids. And Idols from Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46 and AKB48 land on the stage with the characters of Hyokkori-Hyoutanjima, and the eponymous song (ひょっこりひょうたん島).

It is time for a gift for the future of the children, therefore the Johnny's of Sexy Zone and King & Prince arrive to cover the hit of V6, WA ni natte odorô (WAになっておどろう), soon joined on stage by other artists such as LGM...
We are introduced to the 2020 Olympic Games supporting song of the NHK, produced by Yonezu Kenshi (again !): Paprika, sung by a band of children, Foorin.
They join the previous artists on the stage, in the presence of the 2 olympic mascots, recently named Miraitowa and Someity. There's quite a bunch of people now; let's have a thought to the 46 and 48 Idols who are dancing on all the songs form the beginning!

Chiko-chan et le comique Okamura Takashi interrogent Sakurai : pourquoi "Kôhaku" ? Non, rien à voir avec les carpes du même nom, s'énerve Chiko-chan ! S'ensuit un docu-fiction sur la genèse du célèbre concours : Kondo Tsumori (近藤 積), le 1er directeur des programmes musicaux à la radio (joué par Okamura), était membre d'un club de kendo. Le rapport ? Le voici : au sortir de la guerre, le Japon est dévasté et les gens n'ont guère que la radio. Pour redonner le moral et revaloriser la culture japonaise, c'est à lui, sous l'aval du directeur général, qu'incombe donc la définition de l'émission. Qui sera un concours, mais le titre, c'est la page blanche... Alors que son supérieur le titille avec son éventail, il riposte d'un men-nuki-dô et, au chef "estomaqué", explique qu'il ne perd jamais en duel rouge-blanc (kôhaku sen ni makenai !), référence aux rubans identifiant les kendokas en compétition.
Chiko-chan and the comic Okamura ask Sakurai: why "Kôhaku" ? No, nothing to do with the carps, says Chiko-chan, getting mad ! And here comes a documentary-fiction about the origin of the show: Kondo Tsumori (近藤 積), the first musical programs director on radio (played by Okamura), was a member of a kendo club. The point ? Following the WW2, Japan is devastated and people have barely a radio. To cheer up and revalue the Japanese culture, he has to define a new show, which shall be a competition, but when coming to the title, it stays a blank page... One day as his general director is teasing him with his fan, he counter-attacks with a men-nuki-dou and, explains to his surprised boss that he never loses in a red-white fight (kôhaku sen ni makenai !), reference to the ribbons the kendoka wear in competition to identify them.
L'équipe de curling femme 1e médaillée aux JO de Pyongyang, célèbre aussi pour sa bonne humeur, se présente à son tour, pour partager la scène avec Tendo Yoshimi (天童よしみ) à l'occasion d'une chanson sur Hokkaido où elles pratiquent pour la plupart : Sôran matsuri bushi (ソーラン祭り節).
The female curling team, 1st medalist in Pyongyang Olympic Games, famous too for their joyfulness, gets on the stage to participate to the party of Tendo Yoshimi (天童よしみ) through a song of Hokkaido where they mainly practice: Souran matsuri bushi (ソーラン祭り節).
Puis c'est Hasebe Makoto, l'ex-capitaine de l'équipe nationale de foot et membre du jury, qui est interviewé, pour célébrer la... première participation en phase finale en 8 ans ! On sait aussi se contenter de peu ici... Néanmoins, je rappellerai que l'artisan de cette qualification fut un entraineur bien connu en France : "coach Vahid" Halilodzic ! Et que ce dernier fut débarqué malgré tout comme un malpropre juste avant la coupe (il paraît qu'il voulait mettre à la retraite quelques "stars" comme Honda...) !
Il dit aimer notamment Mr Children, mais c'est Suchmos, groupe de "Black Music" ayant un bon succès depuis 2017 avec un son RnB assez planant, qui vient célébrer sa 1e apparition avec VOLT-AGE, chanson thème de l'émission de la... NHK sur la coupe du monde en Russie. Ils sont en direct d'un live house, mais la NHK a préparé une rétrospective qui passe derrière eux.
Then it is Hasebe Makoto, ex-captain of the soccer national team and member of the jury, who is interviewed, to celebrate the... first participation in final phase in 8 years ! Japan can get content of small things... However I would remind that the man who got this qualification was a well-known coach in France, that is "coach Vahid" Halilodzic ! And that this one was sacked just before the world cup (it seems he was willing to get rid of some "stars" such as Honda...) !
He claims he particularly like Mr Children, but it is Suchmos, a "Black Music" band who has been having a good success since 2017 wih a quite aerial RnB sound, who come to celebrate their first invitation. Te song is VOLT-AGE, theme song of the world cup in Russia of the... NHK. They are in another live house, but the NHK prepared a flashback movie behind them.
Autre grand début : celui des "vieilles Idols" (moyenne d'âge de 40 ans) du genre Enka-Kayôkyoku de Junretsu (純烈) avec Propose. Le petit parterre de mamies fans auquel ils se mêlent semble autant déchaîné qu'un groupe de wota ^^
Mais peu après, les journalistes découvraient qu'un des membres, exclu depuis, avait un sordide passé de violences conjugales et d'adultère...
Another debut, the one of the "old Idols" (40 in average) of the Enka-Kayoukyoku genre of Junretsu (純烈) with Propose. The small fan selection of grandmas among who they come to sing seems as hot as a wota crowd ^^
But a few weeks later, journalists discovered one of the members, who has been excluded since then, had a gloomy past of domestic violence and adultery...
On va crescendo sur les grandes premières avec Aimyon (あいみょん), jeune "guitare-jo" qui a placé pas moins de 3 titres dans le top 5 des "chansons à texte" d'après la présentation de la NHK à laquelle elle a droit. C'est le sublime Marigold, 2e mais sorti à peine un mois avant, qu'elle chante sur scène. Au passage, on apprend que la chanson Heisei qui l'a marquée est Chicken rice de Hamada Masatoshi.
We go crescendo in the premieres with Aimyon (あいみょん), young "guitar-jo" who placed not less than 3 titles in the top 5 of "lyrics-emphasizing songs" according to the introduction by the NHK. She sings the wonderful Marigold, 2nd in these charts but released one month only earlier. By the way, we learn that the Heisei song which stroke her was Chicken rice by Hamada Masatoshi.
Ninomiya d'Arashi présente Magus, magicien japonais récompensé d'un Merlin award cette année-là. Il collabore avec Mizumori Kaori (水森かおり) sur sa chanson Enka Mizu ni saku hana, Shikotsuko e (水に咲く花・支笏湖へ) qui a pour thème Hokkaido (clin d'œil à un drama avec Suzu ;-). Mizumori abandonne donc ses costumes gigantesques pour un numéro de lévitation-téléportation réussi.
Ninomiya from Arashi introduces Magus, a Japanese magician who won a Merlin award on that year. He collaborates with Mizumori Kaori (水森かおり) on her Enka song Mizu ni saku hana, Shikotsuko e (水に咲く花・支笏湖へ) which has Hokkaido as a theme (with a reference to a drama with Suzu ;-). Mizumori gives up this time her giant costumes for a succeeded levitation-teleportation trick.
On reste dans l'illusion avec Karakuri darake no Tenderness (カラクリだらけのテンダネス) des Sexy Zone ^^ qui jouent sur leur synchronisation avec des écrans. Une technique déjà vue chez d'autres artistes comme Perfume..., en collaboration ici avec SIRO-A.

Duel de débutants "2.5D" sur fond d'hommage au "soft power" de la pop culture japonaise : les fines lames de Tôken Danshi (刀剣男士) font face aux school Idols d'Aqours, qui ont pris la relève des µ's dans la franchise d'anime Love Live. La NHK indique qu'elles ont réuni plus de 150 000 personnes dans leurs concerts où elles reprennent les chorégraphies de l'anime, tandis que les Token Danshi jouent dans un spectacle musical inspiré de la franchise de jeu Tôken Rambu très populaire chez les jeunes Japonaises. Ils chantent le titre éponyme (刀剣乱舞), tandis qu'Aqours répond avec Kimi no kokoro wa kagaiteru no kai ? (君のこころは輝いてるかい?).
Duel of beginners "2.5D" to pay homage to the "soft power" of the Japanese pop culture: the fencers of Touken Danshi (刀剣男士) face the school Idols of Aqours, successors of µ's in the anime franchise Love Live. The NHK indicates that they gathered over 150 000 people in their concerts where she perform the choreography of the anime, while the Token Danshi play in a musical spectacle inspired by the game franchise Touken Ranbu , very popular among the young Japanese ladies. They sing the eponymous title (刀剣乱舞), while Aqours replies with Kimi no kokoro wa kagaiteru no kai ? (君のこころは輝いてるかい?).
On reste dans les animes avec le duo inédit Yoshiki (d'X Japan) - Hyde (de L'Arc-en-Ciel) pour l'opening de l'Attaque des Titans alias Shingeki no kyojin, Red Swan. Yoshiki, qui enchaine ensuite avec la cantatrice Sarah Brightman pour le titre plus classique Miracle, porte une minerve noire, qu'il enlève lorsqu'il passe au piano. Il peut ainsi se targuer à nouveau d'avoir concourru pour les 2 équipes dans la même édition, et est sûr de gagner à la fin ^^
We stay in the anime with the original duo Yoshiki (from X Japan) - Hyde (from L'Arc-en-Ciel) for the opening of Attack on Titans aka Shingeki no kyojin, Red Swan. Yoshiki, who combines then with the lyrical singer Sarah Brightman for the more classical title Miracle, wears a black neck brace, which he removes when coming to the piano. He can thus boast again that he performed in both teams in the same edition and is sure to win at last. ^^
En attendant son tour de chant, l'acteur-chanteur Hoshino Gen offre un petit intermède, travesti un peu comme dans le clip Family Song. On aperçoit Daichi Miura à ses côtés. Ils entonnent un passage de son 1er gros succès, Sun.

Initialement chanteuse d'enka, Shimazu a déjà prouvé son talent pour des reprises d'autres styles, mais j'aurais préféré la légendaire chanteuse originale, bien qu'elle n'ait qu'une activité réduite maintenant...

Les Da Pump sont punis des paroles prétendûment peu claires de USA et doivent aller faire les back dancers pour un "grand artiste", Itsuki Hiroshi (五木ひろし) sur Viva la Vida !~ Ikiterutte ii ne (生きてるっていいね!), l'occasion de glisser leur fameux mouvement du pouce levé ("ii ne dance") de USA. Ils sont ensuite rejoints par les Aqours et les AKB48 notamment.

Ce Kôhaku débutait avec un générique rétrospectif de grands succès chantés au Kôhaku durant l'ère Heisei, c'est-à-dire depuis 1989, comme le fameux générique de Chibi Maruko-chan Odoru Pompokorin par B.B. Queens, Kurenai de X Japan, Boy meet girl de TRF, Rising sun d'EXILE, Zundoko de Hikawa Kiyoshi... avec certains invités actuels en figurants devant les télés d'époque comme Perfume, DAOKO, Arashi...Il est à nouveau présidé par l'acteur et présentateur Uchimura Teruyoshi (内村 光良) tandis que Sakurai Sho (櫻井 翔) du groupe Arashi (嵐) et l'actrice et mannequin Hirose Suzu (広瀬 すず), sont les capitaines des Blancs (voix masculines) et Rouges (voix féminines) respectivement. La thématique est à nouveau "Chantons nos rêves" (夢を歌おう).
This Kouhaku started with a retrospective opening of some main hits sung in the Kouhaku of the Heisei era, that is, since 1989, such as the famous theme song of Chibi Maruko-chan Odoru Ponpokorin by B.B. Queens, Kurenai by X Japan, Boy meet girl by TRF, Rising sun by EXILE, Zundoko by Hikawa Kiyoshi... with some current guests as background performers watching the TV of that days such as Perfume, DAOKO, Arashi...It is once again presided by the actor and animator Uchimura Teruyoshi (内村 光良) while Sakurai Sho (櫻井 翔) from the band Arashi (嵐) and the actress and model Hirose Suzu (広瀬 すず), are the captains of the Whites (male vocals) and Reds (female vocals) respectively. Bon nombre d'artistes sont réunis sur la scène en lever de rideau, dont les Southern All Stars, pour la première fois en 35 ans, eux qui n'apparaissaient guère qu'en duplex depuis leurs propres concerts ! Mais on commence avec les Sandaime J Soul Brothers (三代目J-Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe) et leur gros tube clubbing de 2014, RYUSEI, avec sa fameuse chorégraphie du "running man".
Tout autre style, la chanteuse d'Enka Sakamoto Fuyumi (坂本冬美) reprend son titre Yozakura Oshichi (夜桜お七), accompagnée, pour faire le poids, de la troupe féminine championne de danse Fabulous Sisters BLUE TOKYO (choré de Ruu).
Many artists are gathering on the opening stage, including the Southern All Stars for the first time in 35 years, as since then they barely appear in duplex from their own lives ! But let's start with the Sandaime J Soul Brothers (三代目J-Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe) and their huge clubbing hit from 2014, RYUSEI, with its famous "running man" choreography.
In an opposite style, the Enka singer Sakamoto Fuyumi (坂本冬美) covers her song Yozakura Oshichi (夜桜お七), with the female dance champion troop Fabulous Sisters BLUE TOKYO (choreography by Ruu) as back dancers to match the challenge.
Le vétéran Johnny's Gô Hiromi (郷ひろみ) démarre du hall d'entrée du Hall de la NHK pour finir sur scène avec une (énième) reprise d'un de ses tubes "Kôhaku", Goldfinger (rien à voir avec 007, c'est la version japonaise de la Vida Loca de Ricky Martin !).Veteran Johnny's Gou Hiromi (郷ひろみ) starts from entrance hall of the NHK Hall to finish on stage with (once again) a cover of one of his "Kouhaku" hits, Goldfinger (nothing to do with 007, it's the Japanese version of la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin !).

Il y a un petit reportage sur la jeune génération de sportifs et son rapport à la musique, notamment la pongiste qui a participé au clip des Little Glee Monster, Sekai wa anata ni waraikaketeiru (世界はあなたに笑いかけている), que le groupe vocal féminin de J-Pop vient chanter sur scène avec une chorale de 200 élèves.
There is a short report on the young athletes generation and their relation to the music, in particular the ping-pong player who appeared in the Little Glee Monster music video Sekai wa anata ni waraikaketeiru (世界はあなたに笑いかけている), which the J-Pop female vocal band come and sing on stage with a 200-student choir.
DAOKO fait (enfin) son arrivée au Kôhaku pour Uchiage Hanabi (打上花火), le gros tube en duo avec Yonezu Kenshi qui a donné envie de voir le film d'animation Fireworks (plus que l'inverse ;-p) en 2017. Petite bizarrerie, elle chante seule avec un enregistrement de le partie de Yonezu, pourtant programmé dans l'émission lui aussi. Y aurait-il un problème (suspens insoutenaaable...) ?
Then comes Yamauchi Keisuke (山内 惠介), accompanied too , but by a music-hall troop cosplayed as Tôken Danshi (刀剣男士), from the cross-media franchise (games, music-hall...) Token Ranbu (刀剣乱舞), for Sarase fuyu no arashi (さらせ冬の嵐).
DAOKO enters (at last) the Kouhaku for Uchiage Hanabi (打上花火), the big hit which made lot of people go and see the animation movie Fireworks (rather than the opposite ;-p). A bit strange point is that she sings alone with a playback of Yonezu's part, while he is supposed to perform during the show. Is there a problem ? (What a suspense...)
Uchimura reprend son déguisement de super-manager de l'année précédente et part en bateau. Sa mission : dégoter le show de rêve ultime pour les enfants de l'ère Heisei. Et ce sont des Idols des Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46 et AKB48 qui atterrissent sur scène avec les persos de Hyokkori-Hyoutanjima, et la chanson éponyme (ひょっこりひょうたん島).Ôno d'Arashi et Muro Tsuyoshi, un comédien, lancent ensuite les mascottes et animateurs des émissions pour enfants de la NHK Okaa-san to Issho et Inai Inai Bah !, avec la chanson Wao (わ～お！), puis Niji no mukou ni (にじのむこうに) pour consoler le super-manager devenu trop grand pour rentrer dans le hall...
Puis Matsuda Seiko (松田聖子), programmée aussi plus tard, surgit du sol pour un bref extrait de Kitte no nai okurimono (切手のないおくりもの). Le super-manager géant se change alors en une multitude de mini-managers, et un de taille normal ^^. Il est temps de faire un présent d'avenir aux enfants alors les Johnny's de Sexy Zone et King & Prince arrivent pour reprendre le tube des V6, WA ni natte odorô (WAになっておどろう), vite rejoints sur scène par d'autres artistes comme les LGM...Ils rejoignent tous les artistes précédents sur scènes à leur tour, sous les yeux des 2 mascottes des JO récemment baptisées, Miraitowa et Someity.
Ca commence à faire du monde ; petite pensée aux Idols 46 et 48 présentes depuis le début et reprenant toutes les choré !
Uchimura dresses again as the previous year's super-manager and sails away. His mission : to find the ultimate dream show for the Heisei era's kids. And Idols from Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46 and AKB48 land on the stage with the characters of Hyokkori-Hyoutanjima, and the eponymous song (ひょっこりひょうたん島).Ôno from Arashi and Muro Tsuyoshi, a comedian, launch then the mascots and animators of the NHK kids shows Okaa-san to Issho and Inai Inai Bah!, with the songs Wao (わ～お！), then Niji no mukou ni (にじのむこうに) to comfort the super-manager who became too big to enter back the building...
Then Matsuda Seiko (松田聖子), expected in the show later too, emerges from the ground for a short excerpt of Kitte no nai okurimono (切手のないおくりもの). The giant super-manager turns into a crowd of mini-managers and one of normal size ^^. It is time for a gift for the future of the children, therefore the Johnny's of Sexy Zone and King & Prince arrive to cover the hit of V6, WA ni natte odorô (WAになっておどろう), soon joined on stage by other artists such as LGM...
We are introduced to the 2020 Olympic Games supporting song of the NHK, produced by Yonezu Kenshi (again !): Paprika, sung by a band of children, Foorin.They join the previous artists on the stage, in the presence of the 2 olympic mascots, recently named Miraitowa and Someity. There's quite a bunch of people now; let's have a thought to the 46 and 48 Idols who are dancing on all the songs form the beginning!

Hey!Say! JUMP! chantent Ultra Music Power, leur chanson signature, avec l'équipe championne de cheerleaders... masculins !
Oka Midori (丘 みどり) prend la suite avec Hatakeyama Airi (畠山 愛理), une ancienne gymnaste, à la danse. Elle chante Nio no umi (鳰の湖), autre nom du célèbre lac Biwa.

Chiko-chan et le comique Okamura Takashi interrogent Sakurai : pourquoi "Kôhaku" ? Non, rien à voir avec les carpes du même nom, s'énerve Chiko-chan ! S'ensuit un docu-fiction sur la genèse du célèbre concours : Kondo Tsumori (近藤 積), le 1er directeur des programmes musicaux à la radio (joué par Okamura), était membre d'un club de kendo. Le rapport ? Le voici : au sortir de la guerre, le Japon est dévasté et les gens n'ont guère que la radio. Pour redonner le moral et revaloriser la culture japonaise, c'est à lui, sous l'aval du directeur général, qu'incombe donc la définition de l'émission. Qui sera un concours, mais le titre, c'est la page blanche... Alors que son supérieur le titille avec son éventail, il riposte d'un men-nuki-dô et, au chef "estomaqué", explique qu'il ne perd jamais en duel rouge-blanc (kôhaku sen ni makenai !), référence aux rubans identifiant les kendokas en compétition.L'équipe de curling femme 1e médaillée aux JO de Pyongyang, célèbre aussi pour sa bonne humeur, se présente à son tour, pour partager la scène avec Tendo Yoshimi (天童よしみ) à l'occasion d'une chanson sur Hokkaido où elles pratiquent pour la plupart : Sôran matsuri bushi (ソーラン祭り節).The female curling team, 1st medalist in Pyongyang Olympic Games, famous too for their joyfulness, gets on the stage to participate to the party of Tendo Yoshimi (天童よしみ) through a song of Hokkaido where they mainly practice: Souran matsuri bushi (ソーラン祭り節).
Puis c'est Hasebe Makoto, l'ex-capitaine de l'équipe nationale de foot et membre du jury, qui est interviewé, pour célébrer la... première participation en phase finale en 8 ans ! On sait aussi se contenter de peu ici... Néanmoins, je rappellerai que l'artisan de cette qualification fut un entraineur bien connu en France : "coach Vahid" Halilodzic ! Et que ce dernier fut débarqué malgré tout comme un malpropre juste avant la coupe (il paraît qu'il voulait mettre à la retraite quelques "stars" comme Honda...) !
Il dit aimer notamment Mr Children, mais c'est Suchmos, groupe de "Black Music" ayant un bon succès depuis 2017 avec un son RnB assez planant, qui vient célébrer sa 1e apparition avec VOLT-AGE, chanson thème de l'émission de la... NHK sur la coupe du monde en Russie. Ils sont en direct d'un live house, mais la NHK a préparé une rétrospective qui passe derrière eux.
He claims he particularly like Mr Children, but it is Suchmos, a "Black Music" band who has been having a good success since 2017 wih a quite aerial RnB sound, who come to celebrate their first invitation. Te song is VOLT-AGE, theme song of the world cup in Russia of the... NHK. They are in another live house, but the NHK prepared a flashback movie behind them.
Autre grand début : celui des "vieilles Idols" (moyenne d'âge de 40 ans) du genre Enka-Kayôkyoku de Junretsu (純烈) avec Propose. Le petit parterre de mamies fans auquel ils se mêlent semble autant déchaîné qu'un groupe de wota ^^
Mais peu après, les journalistes découvraient qu'un des membres, exclu depuis, avait un sordide passé de violences conjugales et d'adultère...Another debut, the one of the "old Idols" (40 in average) of the Enka-Kayoukyoku genre of Junretsu (純烈) with Propose. The small fan selection of grandmas among who they come to sing seems as hot as a wota crowd ^^
But a few weeks later, journalists discovered one of the members, who has been excluded since then, had a gloomy past of domestic violence and adultery...
Ninomiya d'Arashi présente Magus, magicien japonais récompensé d'un Merlin award cette année-là. Il collabore avec Mizumori Kaori (水森かおり) sur sa chanson Enka Mizu ni saku hana, Shikotsuko e (水に咲く花・支笏湖へ) qui a pour thème Hokkaido (clin d'œil à un drama avec Suzu ;-). Mizumori abandonne donc ses costumes gigantesques pour un numéro de lévitation-téléportation réussi.Ninomiya from Arashi introduces Magus, a Japanese magician who won a Merlin award on that year. On reste dans l'illusion avec Karakuri darake no Tenderness (カラクリだらけのテンダネス) des Sexy Zone ^^ qui jouent sur leur synchronisation avec des écrans. Une technique déjà vue chez d'autres artistes comme Perfume..., en collaboration ici avec SIRO-A.
Duel de débutants "2.5D" sur fond d'hommage au "soft power" de la pop culture japonaise : les fines lames de Tôken Danshi (刀剣男士) font face aux school Idols d'Aqours, qui ont pris la relève des µ's dans la franchise d'anime Love Live. La NHK indique qu'elles ont réuni plus de 150 000 personnes dans leurs concerts où elles reprennent les chorégraphies de l'anime, tandis que les Token Danshi jouent dans un spectacle musical inspiré de la franchise de jeu Tôken Rambu très populaire chez les jeunes Japonaises. Ils chantent le titre éponyme (刀剣乱舞), tandis qu'Aqours répond avec Kimi no kokoro wa kagaiteru no kai ? (君のこころは輝いてるかい?).

En attendant son tour de chant, l'acteur-chanteur Hoshino Gen offre un petit intermède, travesti un peu comme dans le clip Family Song. On aperçoit Daichi Miura à ses côtés. Ils entonnent un passage de son 1er gros succès, Sun.

Shimazu Aya (島津 亜矢) reprend à propos une célèbre chanson de Nakajima Miyuki (中島 みゆき), Jidai (時代, époque, génération, ère...), avec un petit film rétrospectif sur l'ère Heisei. Initialement chanteuse d'enka, Shimazu a déjà prouvé son talent pour des reprises d'autres styles, mais j'aurais préféré la légendaire chanteuse originale, bien qu'elle n'ait qu'une activité réduite maintenant...
Le super-manager, accompagné de l'acteur comique Muro Tsuyoshi un peu surpris, convoque quelques artistes pour un remontage de bretelles, enfin... sauf les Nogizaka 46 qu'il voulait juste voir... heu, féliciter de près pour leur 2e grand prix JRA d'affilé ! Les Da Pump sont punis des paroles prétendûment peu claires de USA et doivent aller faire les back dancers pour un "grand artiste", Itsuki Hiroshi (五木ひろし) sur Viva la Vida !~ Ikiterutte ii ne (生きてるっていいね!), l'occasion de glisser leur fameux mouvement du pouce levé ("ii ne dance") de USA. Ils sont ensuite rejoints par les Aqours et les AKB48 notamment.Et sans autre transition cette année, ce sont les news.

Da Pump are punished because he doesn't understand the lyrics of USA and they must act as back dancers for a "great artist", Itsuki Hiroshi (五木ひろし) singing Viva la Vida !~ Ikiterutte ii ne (生きてるっていいね!). That's an occasion to place the famous thumb up move ("ii ne dance") of USA. They are then joined by Aqours and AKB48 among others.
And without any other transition this year, here come the news.
