Elections sénatoriales au Japon
Début juillet se tenaient l'équivalent japonais des sénatoriales. Parmi les différences notables, la Chambre Haute est renouvelée par moitié et au suffrage local direct, avec une part de proportionnelle. Et dans les médias, la droite est représentée en rouge, la gauche en bleu ^^'.
Pour la 1ere fois, l'âge du vote était abaissé à 18 ans au lieu de 20, ce qui n'a pas spécialement modifié la répartition des forces politiques, faute d'alternative économique convaincante apparemment (Twitter NHK). La coalition de droite au gouvernement a ainsi en gros doublé ses sièges, dépassant de peu la barre des 2/3. Cela lui permettrait potentiellement de proposer un référendum sur la modification de la Constitution, notamment l'article 9 interdisant l'entretien d'une armée et a fortiori son déploiement en-dehors du territoire national.
Un tel référendum ne serait pas aussi facilement gagné pour autant, en témoigne
la vive opposition sur une loi allant dans ce sens il y a un an. Toutefois, les justifications d'alors et l'expansion unilatérale de la Chine (qui a récemment rejeté sa condamnation par le tribunal d'arbitrage international de La Haye pour des constructions sur des îlots réclamés par les Philippines et le Vietnam entre autres :-p) pourraient finir par convaincre l'opinion...
At the begining of July there were the polls for the Japanese Upper house. Among the main rules, it is elected by half and through universal direct poll, with a part of proportionality. And in the media, the right-wing is represented in red and the left-wing in blue ^^'.
For the 1st time, the voting age was put down to 18 instead of 20, which did not particularly modified the balance of political forces, due to the lack of convincing economical alternative (Twitter NHK). The ruling right-wing coalition thus roughly doubled its deputies, reaching shortly the 2/3 limit. This can allow them to propose a referendum on the modification of the Constitution, in particular the Article 9 which forbids to own an army and of course to send it outside its own territory.
Such a referendum would however not be so easily won, as we could see the strong opposition against a law going in this direction one year ago. However, the justifications at that time and the realization of the China's unilateral expansion (who recently rejected their condamnation by the international court of La Haye for some constructions on desert reefs claimed by Philippina and Vietnam among others :-p) could at last convince the public opinion...
Un truc plus léger à noter tout de même est l'habillage façon Card Game proposé par la chaîne MBS, qui a au moins le mérite de présenter façon concise et amusante les candidats au-delà de leur parti (expérience, popularité, "technique spéciale" ^^) :

Cette histoire débute par un nouveau scandale en politique après ceux de janvier-février (cf. ci-dessous), mais plutôt drôle cette fois (enfin, ça dépend pour qui) !
